Her First Word !!
It was last week actually--- she has been making random "word" sounds, mama, dada, nananana, in the usual baby rant style, but last week she actually associated spoken language with its physical counterpart--- she "got" the concept, it was so clear you could even read her thought process--- as she looked in deep concentration ----AUUUUU.....TINNNN !
Clearly, she was calling her most favourite and adored cousin-- Austin----- The funny part is, he calls her his brother!!!
It's so darned cute we just go along with the misconception---- we'll leave that up to Mandy to explain--- She goes absolutely crazy when she sees him, squealing and hollering, something like Beatlemania, or 'Trudeaumania (sorry dad)--and he tries so hard to escape her adulation----

cute... It's fun when the speech starts.. end to the frustrations of knowing in their head more of language then they can produce.... ahhhh... reminscing on my linguistics course during undergrad on "first language acquistion".... exciting times!

you know what they say, once they start talking it never stops, look at Angie she has been talking since she was 3 months old and hasn't stopped yet, to quote Dad, "She has a hinged tongue that flaps on both ends and was vacinated with a gramaphone needle!"
Wonder if Lexy wil be like that*LOL*
yes well. little boys. sigh.
give him twelve years and he'll do a flip about on running away from adoring little girls.
But Lexy is such a cute baby! She really does love her big bro eh?
Ohhh thats so cute. She truly loves that little boy.Wait until they can play ball together. He won't be trying to run away from her anymore.
Wait 'til they're in school, and someone tries to pick on her. I bet he'll be there to protect her faster than he runs away now :o)
Mandy: Don't try too hard with the brother thing, it's kind of cute!!
g: He amazes me everyday with his sophisticated language skills.
K&S: Do I detect slight sibling rivalry??
H: It's nice they have each other, since they're both onlys,,so far !!
FF: The gap will narrow in a hurry, that's for sure-
Mikki; They'll probably be going to different schools, but I can already see that protective streak at times-
LJLC: Just goes to show, we learn what we NEED to know faster than anything else!!
My Goodness, she's so smart. It's amazing how fast kids learn these days.
It's the good genes coming out in her and Austin...we can thank Dad for that!!!!!
