The Absence of What?

I'm looking for a word-- what I call an "anti" word-- you know how some things are best described by the absence of something more definitive--- something tangible--- able to be detected by at least one of the senses-- for example,
darkness is merely the absence of light---------
blindness, the absence of sight------
silence, the absence of sound---
poverty, the absence of wealth---
get the picture-- more like get the negative???
Lest you think this monodiscussion might be headed to deeper ground,, fear not---- you know the train of my thought is a shallow circuit---- so what triggered these thoughts--- Husband asked me if I had noticed the absence of Billy's exhaust emissions--- le fin de flatulence ???
Need a new word---- any ideas??

Hmmmmm - the absence of flatulence... maybe, "flatuless"? It must be a relief, though, no matter what you call it :o)

Gasping.
Vaccuum.

which by mere usage implies the absense of air.

Billy Baron has left us gasping in Blogsphere with the sudden silence. We now feel the vaccuum.

Amen. peace be upon the flatulence of Billy Baron.

Let's see....The Absence of Misery.
Also...you could call it a Silence...such as 'The Silence of the Fart-Dogs!
Hmmmm...maybe that's what the title 'The Silence of the Lambs' really means.
Do Lambs have flatulence?
