It's neat I never noticed until after I was done mine that you had a journal for the book that made you cry so much... Chris' at that... I cried so much reading my poppy's journal this past Easter when I was visiting my nanny in Newfoundland. My uncle said I might enjoy reading it and within the first few words I was just bawling...

See he died when I was 10 or 11 so I don't remember much about him. I miss him so much for that reason. When I read his journal it was so much like my own experiences teaching in an isolated area that I felt sooo moved. I was also sooooo sad to think that if he had been alive I might have really bonded with him over the experiences I had... Since that time my mother has mailed me a photocopy of the journal. It isn't quite the same as you cannot make out the doodles on the front cover and you don't have that same sense that those very papers had been with him through those difficult cold stormy nights... But the content was really amazing to re-read!
