I was just reminiscing about the good ol' days of Milton with Maryn today and she told me about this website. Chris and I were never super tight friends but he always meant a lot to me. I had the biggest crush on him for years in Elementary and Junior high, and still remember the hilarious conversations we had on the phone (when I finally built up the nerve to call him). He once tried to convince me that he was a leprechaun and had a pot of gold under his bed. After graduating high school and moving away I would always hope to run into him when I would come bac
k to Yarmouth. It only happened once but he was very enthusiastic and genuinely interested in "catching up" with me, even if it only lasted 10 minutes on the sidewalk in front of Jakes. Chris was just one of those guys who could always put someone at ease, make them feel important and show them that they meant something to him. When my cousin told me that he had passed a few years ago, I was immediately saddened that I hadn't made more of an effort to keep in touch with him or that I would not have another chance to run into him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family- I don't think pain like that could ever go away... probably only numbs over time... Just know this, that your son was an amazing guy!

Thanks Cheryl-- He used to cut his red hair for me just before St. Patrick's Day, and I would leave hairs all around the class room to make the kids think a leprechaun had visited-- how he hated his red hair though--- always stood out-always got caught!!

I still get that a lot from M's friends.
I guess that was Chris' way of telling you that he is fine.

So appropriate. Ahhh his leprechaun bit... he loved to go on about at parties when we'd both had too much to drink. He was indeed amazing, and sweet and funny and I'm too hormonal to keep going but I loved him. And so did 99.9% of those who knew him. You must be a good mom to have raised a boy like him. You are loved.
