Confessions of a Voyeur

The cool morning air still has that scent of rained-on vegetation from the vacant lot behind our house. The strong continuous rainstorm last night was an unexpected summer treat. When the sky started rumbling last night, it was music to my ears and the lightning show was like a Then the rain poured in gusts of fine rain droplets - like mist. It was as if the heat from the parched earth turned them back to vapor before reaching the ground.
Don't get excited- you should know that's not my style of writing- too poetic and creative- but I do have a confession to make- I'm coming out of the closet- yes, I'm a voyeur- On those slow blog nights, when no one else is in the "staff room", I have checked out other blogs as mentioned on the dashboard- a couple of them have captured my continued attention- the paragraph above was written by a husband whose wife died of cancer about a year and a half ago- his story is touching and poignant - he's devoted to raising their son, whom he calls D- His address is http://houseband00.blogspot.com/
The other one has gained notoriety and has lead to a book deal !!!! She is (was) homeless and describes her struggles using a computer at the library, living out of her car- Over 155 thousand people have visited her blog. http://wanderingscribe.blogspot.com Here is an excerpt,
"This is the first time I have blogged, but it already feels most of the time like talking rather than writing (and on a good day I touch type so am not even aware of my hands, just think a thing and it appears on the screen, feels scarily like telepathy if I let it — so I won't! ) Anyway, this is one of those times when it feels more intimate than writing ordinarily does, feels like I am whispering my vulnerability into the ear of a newfound friend. And I have been clammed shut for so long that I don't know where, or how, to begin."
My secret is out- and I may have to concede that Michael might have had a point in worrying about this blogging thing- I have my own rationale- I've always been interested in psychology, what makes people tick, was my major in university, so this is just an extension of that interest- right?? right??? Anyway, I see no harm and if its out there, it's fair game- as ours are!!! So if you're reading this and are not one of my links, perhaps, you too, my friend, have become a voyeur!!!!!!
Another rainy day- couldn't watch Coronation Street- when Austin is here, the channel is Treehouse!!! So maybe teahound or tuffysmom could fill me in on any new developments- again, another extension of the psychology of human behavior---- along withBig Brother, Survivor, American Idol and so on and so on and..In case you're wondering, I had a great night's sleep- you see Frank, the snorer, read my blog before retiring, and fell asleep on the snorefree side- Austin slept until 8:OO, the dogs were quiet, and the cats did not jump over us to go out- There was a shooting in town last night- don't know any details- My kids were all home!!!! May check in later -----I hope that there are no copyright picture police patrolling these blogs- not sure of the legality of using pictures from the web, okay, I am sure, it's not legal, so now I'm not only a voyeur, I'm a criminal, and probably won't get any sleep tonight worrying about being caught!!!!!

I'm back...as I said in my blog...weekends aren't good for me! How ironic that you write that beautiful rain story after I just posted my blog on rain, rain, rain!!! I always post first before reading. I don't think it's illegal to use pictures from the web unless they are pornograpic. After all, they are free domain once posted on a free website. It's not copyrighted material..it's free for all as far as I know. Tell me, do you ever make a comment on someone else's blog..a stranger's I mean. I read a blog by some tourists who had just visited Niagara Falls and posted some beautiful pictures...and I commented that I hoped they enjoyed their visit. I always feel a need to put my two cents worth in.
Now, about Coronation Street...let me see. Tracey lost her battle with Steve in court...he now has parental rights and can visit the baby whenever! Tracey went nuts! The new girl at the kennel is trying to break up Fizz and Kirkie! Revenge for childhood pranks Fizz played on her. Shelley made up with her Mother, but her boyfriend (what's his name?) told Shelley that her mother tried to pay him to go away. A lie of course. Shelley and Charlie..or yeah, Charlie...that's his name are getting married next week. Can't think of anything else other than the usual bar chit chat and gossip. Oh yeah, I think Frankies' husband, (what's his name) broke it off with his son's girlfriend (what's her name). That's all I can think of now. Let you know if anything else pops into mind.
Ahah, so Tuffysmom confesses to dabbling in voyeurisn too!!! I think it's appropriate to leave a comment if you're reading someone's blog- our blogs are kind of like works of art- we create them and put them out there for all to view- feedback is nice- thanks for the coronation update-
