This Day in History

April 20--- Ridvan begins at sunset
April 20, 1999--Columbine High Massacre
April 20, 2005--- Mom died

No flowery peace and love syrupy obit---

it wasn't gentle,, it wasn't peaceful.. it wasn' t loving.
No easy pass
It was brutal, barbaric, endless rattling,
dry-parched throat curdling,
eyes screaming silently, beseeching,
pleading,
"Why can't I have a sip of water?"
Last words---
Wouldn't let an animal suffer so!

Medical technology ????
I prayed , begged, and tried to deal with God-
Let this be her last breath!
He listened.
Love you Mama, may God refresh and gladden your spirit, and may your spirit be quenched with lifewater.

dear dear Nan, I am so sorry for the way your ma went. From what you write, and her pictures, she comes across as having been this gorgeous regal person.

lots of love to you.

So sad the way she passed. She will always be the Pretty Lady to me.

Lots of character there... you can see her lively, vibrant nature... guess everything was rather dramatic about her life and death... tough way to go, for her and for those who cared about her to have to watch... I hope that the memories of her vibrant life are burned in your memory more than those painful moments of her passing...

(PS Cute little pic of Lexy's hairdo!!! What a sweetie!)

Oh, Nan. I remember feeling the same way when I held M's hand in her last moments. I remember desperately trying to cry silently as I tried to be strong when I comforted her mother.

It's painful, I know, but we have to make ourselves believe that our loved ones are at a much happier place and smiling at us.

And the small shallow things that make us smile? I always believe that they are signs of reassurance from our lost loved ones.

Hi h: You're so right, regal is the perfect word!
Funnyface: She always liked being called that--
Northern Light: There certainly was a lot of drama--- and yes, the good times far outweigh the bad~
HB: You're such a sweetheart- thanks for the kind words, especially from one who has been through such pain !! I really believe they are ok--

I just don't know what to say. You're words are so true.
It was the most horrible death I have ever seen..and I've seen a few since I've been here.
Pray to God that she rests in peace now.
Lots of love, your Sister.
